If you are considering booking me, you’ll have some questions I’m sure. But a few things I’m asked often are below:
- Do I have my own equipment? ~ Yes I do. I have a self contained mobile DJ set up which includes professional sound and lighting.
- Do I use the microphone? ~ Yes indeed and also no! It’s not always appropriate… I will read the room at the time – so if there are birthday shout outs in a club, they will have a shout out. If I am providing more background music in a cocktail bar, I’ll either save them for later or leave the microphone well alone. Ultimately, it’s your event and I’ll tailor it your way
- Do I take requests? ~ Yes of course – if you desire! There may be song which would fit right in to the vibe we’re partying to and I will be just as excited as the requester to play it. If you would prefer no requests or to avoid a particular genre then I’ll tactically say no. The request may not be appropriate for that exact moment, so I will also keep a note of requests for later in the event – if it becomes appropriate then I will blend it in.
- What fee do I charge? This depends on the event, and time required. As a guide, an evening reception is typically £1,095.
- Do you have reviews from previous clients? ~ Absolutely yes – you can find my reviews on Google reviews, some of which are below.
- What do you do if you require a break? I love my job, if I’m not behind the decks it’s simply because I needed a quick comfort break, but rest assured if this is the case the music won’t stop at all!
- Do you have a back up plan? ~ Yes, a couple! In my 20+ years I have only required to get cover once, and the party still went ahead with a very good DJ standing in for me! If it is at your event, maybe something like a cable, I will have a whole box full of spares. If it is catastrophic equipment fail I will still have a back up plan to keep your party going, with no interruptions! The only thing hard to avoid is a power outage! Equipment nowadays is so much more robust than when I first started which makes this question asked less and less.
- Do you coordinate with other suppliers and musicians alike? Absolutely yes, I will be in contact with your venue management, photographer, videographer and bar to ensure a seamless night kept as close to the schedule as possible, with the best pictures being taken by a well informed photographer! There are lots of people all working together to ensure you have the best time at your event which will be spoken about for years.
- Wedding Band vs Wedding DJ? Both. Seriously. The band will bring a whole different vibe to your event, and it will be my time to ensure we keep the party moving while the band take a well deserved break, plus who else would you trust to keep the party bouncing when the band have finished?!
I am a great believer in getting to know all my clients ahead of DJing for them, and so I would always recommend a no obligation chat about your music requirements. You can contact me clicking right here.
